Authentic Masala Tea
Nothing beats the comforting aroma of a freshly brewed cup of authentic Indian masala chai. Made with whole spices, milk, and tea leaves, this warm and flavorful drink is perfect for starting your day or enjoying with evening snacks.
Ingredients:
• 1 cup water
• 1 cup milk
• 2 tsp strong tea leaves
• 2 tsp sugar (or to taste)
• 2 green cardamom pods
• ½ inch cinnamon stick
• 2 cloves
• ½ inch fresh ginger, crushed
• 2 black peppercorns
• A pinch of fennel seeds (optional)
Method:
1. Add water to a saucepan and bring it to a boil.
2. Crush the cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and peppercorns lightly.
3. Add the spices to the boiling water and simmer for 2 minutes.
4. Add tea leaves and let them brew for 1 minute.
5. Pour in the milk and add sugar.
6. Simmer on low heat for 3–4 minutes until the tea becomes rich and aromatic.
7. Strain into cups and serve hot.
