Cold Process Recipe
Oils
450g Olive Oil
200g Coconut Oil
150g Shea Butter
150g Palm Oil
50g Castor Oil
Lye Solution
136g Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH)
300g Distilled Water
Gentle Additives
2 tbsp Marshmallow Root Powder
2 tbsp Colloidal Oatmeal
1 tbsp Aloe Vera Gel
1 tbsp Honey (optional)
5ml Lavender Essential Oil (optional and very light)
Method
Wear gloves and safety gear.
Slowly add lye into water and allow to cool.
Melt and combine oils.
Mix lye solution with oils using a stick blender.
Add marshmallow root powder, oatmeal, aloe vera, and honey at light trace.
Blend gently until smooth.
Pour into mould.
Cover lightly and leave for 24 hours.
Unmould, cut, and cure for 4–6 weeks.
